Instructor App
THE INSTRUCTOR APP is a pared-down mobile version of the Instructor Portal that provides Instructors and Instructor Leads the ability to view their instructor team’s classes and learners and perform most of the functions of the Instructor Portal.
The Instructor App is connected to your Capillary App and is only accessible to users who are members of at least one instructor team in your branch. Instructors can access the instructor app by clicking on the “MORE…” or “Profile” tab (depending on your app) of the app and clicking “Instructor View.” Once in the instructor view, instructors will be presented with a “Classes” tab and a “Learners” tab.
Classes
The Classes tab lists all of the classes associated with the instructor’s team—including the class name, dates, and class progress bar—and can be sorted and filtered using the dropdown at the top.
Clicking a class link will take the instructor to that class’s details page, listing the class details and registration code as well as the names and progress of each learner on that class’s roster. Instructors can filter the viewable class roster by “All Learners” or any of the seven learner states by clicking on the toggle icon above the class roster and selecting the desired learner-state filter.
In the class’s details page, instructors have the ability to either mark a learner complete, remove that learner from the class, or evaluate that learner using a performance assessment checklist (only displays if a learner evaluation is attached to the class in question). Each of these options are available by tapping on the ellipses to the right of the desired learner’s name.
NOTE: Marking a learner complete or removing a learner are actions that cannot be undone, so make sure you’re performing the desired action before confirming on the resulting popup.
Learners
The Learners tab lists all of the learners associated with the instructor team, along with the course they’re associated with and their learner state in that course. You can filter the learners in the Learners tab by clicking the sliding scale icon above the list of learners and selecting the desired learner state to filter by. You can also search for a specific learner using the search bar at the top.
Instructors can remove a learner, mark a learner complete, or evaluate that learner using a performance assessment checklist (only displays if a learner evaluation is attached to the class in question) from this view as well by clicking the three dots next to the learner’s name and selecting the desired action.
NOTE: Marking a learner complete or removing a learner are actions that cannot be undone, so make sure you’re performing the desired action before confirming on the resulting popup.
